Max plug-ins: online database

A very thorough and well-organized online database of Max plug-ins! Clap

http://www.maxplugins.de/max8.php

Note that the main screen's "Plugin News" panel will NOT pertain to Max 7 or 8.

You need to use the "Plugins by type" selector at page left to access the lists, which can then be organized by name, author's name, or date.
Of course, a lot of these plug-ins are useless in work that has to be exported through the Plasma plug-in. But the Object, Modifier, Utility and especially the Import/Export sections may be invaluable!

Please let us know if you have favorites, or if you find some gems in these lists!

One plug-in I found interesting was LightMesh v0.9

Quote:With this plugin you can turn any object into a light source. This is done by putting a light on every vertex of a mesh. These lights can be omni or free direct and their color will be defined by: 1) the color of the bitmap texture on every vertex. 2) the diffuse color of the material assigned to the object. 3) the color of the object.

It translates nicely, exports and converts, but I only did some basic testing, if your into experimenting try it with no other standard or RT lights just the lights from the plug-in

One of "The Magician"'s tutorials uses a Max script for baking animations.
Andre Hotz is still hosting a page full of his scripts at scriptspot.com/andrehotz/
...including the AnimationBaker script!

Some scripts there could be useful - for instance RangeSelect could be handy when creating VisRegions?
